Vakantie - part 6 - Assisi

Assisi, de stad van de Franciscanen. De stad van de kerk op de kerk zeiden de kinderen. Dat leek ze erg bijzonder, daar wilden ze heen. Al van ver was heel duidelijk te zien dat er inderdaad een kerk op een kerk stond, mooi om te zien.
We parkeerden de auto en begonnen aan de zware klim daar het stadje bovenaan de berg. Nadeel van al die stadjes is dat de auto beneden mag blijven en jij daarna in de volle zon een flinke klim naar boven mag maken. Hier dus ook. Daarna naar de dubbele kerk geweest, erg mooi. Ook van binnen is de kerk erg mooi. Coen ging wel meteen bidden of onze kat aub héél oud mocht worden. Schattig hè.
Assisi, the city of the Franciscans. The city of the church on top of another church the kids said. That seemed very special to the, zo they wanted to go. From far away you could see there was indeed a church on a church. We parked the car and began the big climb to the top of the mountain to the town. The disadvantage of all these towns is that you have to park the car down and you can climb in the sun to the top where the town is. Here also. We went tot the double church, very nice. Also inside the church is very beautiful. Coen made a prayer that our cat might be very old. Cute huh.

Nadat we de kerk hadden bekeken hebben we nog even door het stadje gewandeld. Heel bijzonder om overal Franciscanen of nonnetjes te zien. De stad zelf was ook erg mooi met de smalle straatjes en alle bloembakken vol bloemen.
After we had seen the church we walk around the city. Very special to see all the Franciscans and nuns. The town itself was very nice with all the narrow streets and flower boxes full of flowers.
